West Pines Behavioral Hospital in Westminster, CO is seeking an experienced RN to oversee daily nursing operations and ensure staffing levels support high-quality behavioral health care. This role emphasizes leadership, patient safety, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will hold a current RN license, have 1+ year of RN experience (psychiatric preferred), and may have prior charge nurse responsibilities.

Qualifications

• BSN from accredited school preferred.
• Current registered nursing license in the state of the facility.
• Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred.
• 1 year of experience as an RN in any setting required.
• 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
• Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day nursing operations and ensure adequate staffing.
• Lead shifts with a focus on patient safety and compassionate care.
• Enforce policies for patient and resident care delivery.
• Ensure proper staffing for each unit, maintain ratios, and cover calls/vacations.
• Complete chart checks; maintain MARs, log seclusion/restraint, and nursing assessments.
• Conduct shift rounds and perform random audits.
• Mentor and train staff; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Coordinate care including physician orders and diagnostic information; ensure consultations.
• Document medical and behavioral health information and nursing care.
• Administer medications per policy and maintain records.
• Develop and update care plans with measurable goals.
• Prioritize tasks and delegate to ensure quality care.
• Lead admissions and discharges; adjust staffing as needed.
