Job summary

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, part of University Health Services (UHS), seeks a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to oversee nursing staff 7:00 pm–7:30 am and support quality care for psychiatric patients and those with substance use or rehab needs.

You’ll report to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager, coordinating with physicians and the DON, ensuring proper staffing, codes handling, and patient flow after hours. A strong leadership background is essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of nursing supervisor experience minimum.
• Management/leadership experience preferred.
• Current license in good standing as a Registered Nurse (SC).
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• CPI Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ANA nursing standards and Federal/State guidelines.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Accuracy in documentation is mandatory.
• Excellent supervisory and organizational skills.
• Planning, organization, implementation and assessment skills.
• Ability to motivate, evaluate and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and oversee clinical areas during after-hours.
• Coordinate staffing for nursing units based on grids, census and patient acuity.
• Communicate with physicians, AOC and DON about issues as they arise.
• Oversee all codes and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist admissions with after-hours admissions and discharges.
