Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Step-Down Unit on the night shift. The SDU bridges ICU and general care, offering growth and mentorship in a high-acuity environment.

You will care for complex patients, document in our EHR, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Indiana RN license required; orientation and career growth are emphasized. New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program with Indiana license.
• RN license in Indiana required; CPR certification within 60 days.
• New graduate RNs welcome and supported through orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for high-acuity patients, including cardiac drips, telemetry, and post-op recovery.
• Monitor and respond to patient conditions in real time and document assessments accurately.
• Collaborate with providers, therapists, pharmacists, and other nurses to deliver coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health promotion.
