Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis is seeking a Night Shift Nurse Leader for the Step Down unit. You will provide leadership and coordination of staff, ensure delivery of quality patient care, and collaborate with advanced practice providers to achieve outcomes.

This full-time role requires RN licensure in Illinois or Missouri, BLS certification, and at least one year of RN experience. Shift is 7 PM–7 AM with rotating weekends and holidays, in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• Active RN license in Illinois or Missouri.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Assigns, directs, educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
• Assesses daily patient care needs and distributes patient assignments accordingly.
• Collaborates with advanced practice providers to ensure quality outcomes.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and addresses issues impacting outcomes.
• Responds to complaints about patient care and uses established channels to resolve them.
• May participate in hiring, training, directing and evaluating staff.
