Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced RN for night shift in the Specialty Float department. The role provides expert-level nursing care across high-acuity settings, including ICU, ED, and Telemetry, with autonomy to implement complex care plans.

You will monitor patient conditions in real time, communicate changes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions and adherence to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Dynamic Clinical Agility: Deliver expert-level nursing care across high-acuity environments, including ICU, ED, and Telemetry. You will adapt to diverse patient populations, implementing and monitoring complex care plans while executing physician orders with precision and clinical autonomy.
• Real-Time Assessment & Action: Monitor, record, and communicate rapid changes in patient condition to ensure interventions align with evidence-based practice.
• Multidisciplinary Leadership: Act as the central coordinator for the healthcare team, bridging gaps between disciplines to ensure seamless patient transitions.
