Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Rapid Observation Unit in the Emergency Department. This role involves delivering exceptional nursing care during the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with direct patient interaction and family education.

You will assess patient needs, develop care plans, administer treatments and medications, document care, and participate in interdisciplinary evaluations to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Program, ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.
