Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital in Avon, OH is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Stepdown Unit, delivering direct patient care within a Magnet-designated, multidisciplinary team focused on safety and high-quality outcomes. You will monitor patient conditions, administer medications, update care plans, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning while working nights 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

with weekend/holiday requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification or ALS must be presented upon hire or within first year
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
