Job summary

City of Hope in Newnan, GA seeks a registered nurse to join our patient care team. The role directs care through nursing process, collaborates with patients and families, and provides leadership to unlicensed staff. Must work PT Nights, 7p-7:30a.

Responsibilities include holistic assessment, interdisciplinary communication, planning and delivering therapies, patient/family education, ensuring policy compliance, and safe medication management. Oncology and ICU/step-down experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required.
• BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.
• Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
• Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
• 1-3 years RN experience in bedside care preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Recent ICU and/or step down preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care through the nursing process and collaborate with families and health professionals.
• Provide leadership to unlicensed staff by setting an example of excellence.
• Assessment and Communication: Continuously assesses patient needs and communicates changes to physicians and other healthcare professionals; adjusts plan of care.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Plans, delivers, coordinates, and evaluates therapeutic interventions; supervises care delivery by unlicensed staff.
• Patient/Family Education and Support: Educates patients and families on disease, treatment side effects and health promotion.
• Compliance and Quality Improvement: Ensures policy compliance and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Medical History Documentation and Medication Management: Obtains history, documents in records, verifies orders, and safely delivers medications.
