Palms Behavioral Health in Harlingen, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts to deliver direct nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The RN will assess needs, develop plans of care, administer medications, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care.

The role requires graduation from an approved school of nursing and an active RN license with preferred behavioral health experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• 1+ year nursing experience within the clinical area preferred.
• Behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures.
• Ability to apply nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsabilités

• Provides and coordinates care by assessing physical and behavioral health needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, maintains medical records and educates patients and families.
• Assesses patient status on an ongoing basis and communicates findings to providers.
• Ensures nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs and completed upon admission.
• Transcribes and reviews provider orders accurately and per policy.
• Administers medications with at least two patient identifiers.
• Notifies providers of significant changes in status or adverse events.
• Maintains documentation of medications and treatment across shifts.
• Contributes to hand-off reports and participates in unit activities.
