Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown, OH is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for part-time night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The RN delivers patient care using the nursing process, coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team, and teaches patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of employment or compact state.
• BLS Basic Life Support required; ACLS preferred at hire.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; acute care preferred.
• BSN preferred, with strong nursing assessment and critical thinking.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and educate patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan, implement, and evaluate care using nursing process.
• Administer medications safely per policies.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments.
• Engage in patient safety initiatives and quality improvement.
• Support patients and families, including education and advocacy.
• Manage care for high-acuity patients in stepdown unit.
