Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC, is seeking an experienced RN for the Night shift in the Patient Flow & Transfer Center. You will coordinate and facilitate patient movement within a world-class health system, ensuring timely and safe transfers of patients across units and facilities.

Ideal candidates have a BSN, at least three years of Critical Care or ED nursing experience, and current NC RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Three years of Critical Care or ED nursing experience required at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Knowledge of Duke Health System hospitals and patient care units preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support patient movement within the Duke Health system, ensuring safe transfers between inpatient units, PACU, ED, and clinics.
• Provide 24/7 coverage to meet transfer needs and partner with internal and external teams.
• Navigate complex medical pathways with focus on patient-centered care and safety.
