Job summary

Brown University Health at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a registered nurse to advocate for patients and apply the nursing process across age groups. Responsibilities span assessment, planning, interventions, and documentation within Rhode Island nursing standards.

You will work three 12‑hour night shifts per week (7pm–7:30am) with alternating weekends/holidays, focusing on safe patient care, collaboration with the health team, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing, BSN preferred, with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• Certification in CPR upon hire.
• Understanding of the Nurse Practice Act and professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports deviations from patient norms and documents interventions.
• Provides basic comfort and supports patient and family participation in care.
• Initiates responses in emergencies and plans for potential needs during emergencies.
• Defines nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, adjusts plans accordingly.
• Implements interventions and evaluates patient outcomes; documents care.
