Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Newport Hospital unit in Rhode Island. The RN will advocate for patients, perform nursing processes, and collaborate with a health team to deliver care under policy and procedure. Role includes patient/family engagement and ongoing documentation to meet care goals.

The position requires RI RN licensure, ADN or BSN, and current BLS certification. Three 12-hour night shifts weekly, with every other weekend and holiday coverage, are standard.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Rhode Island or as per nursing compact.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and report deviations from patient norms and document interventions.
• Provide basic comfort and support aligned with patient needs.
• Engage patients and families in achieving optimal functioning and ADLs.
• Set priorities and seek guidance when needed for patient care decisions.
• Maintain nursing plans per established protocols and evaluate outcomes.
