Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inova Alexandria Hospital Ortho Surgery Unit. This full-time, night-shift role (7pm–7am) emphasizes safe, holistic patient care and coordination within a collaborative healthcare team.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and educate patients and families. BSN is preferred, with a current Virginia RN license or eligibility and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• A minimum of 1 year of registered nurse experience.
• Virginia RN license or eligibility for licensure.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and interprets data.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessments.
• Provides patient- and family-centered care across the continuum of treatment.
• Advocates for patients’ rights and coordinates care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Documents care activities per standards and supports others with documentation.
• Contributes to outcomes evaluation and process improvement initiatives.
