Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Orthopedic and Spine Hospital – Arlington is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Post Surgical Unit on the night shift. The RN provides post‑operative nursing care, manages pain, promotes early ambulation, and coordinates with surgeons and post‑acute teams for a seamless patient recovery.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, current Texas RN license, BCLS and ACLS; PALS recommended.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Current Texas RN License.
• Current BCLS, ACLS.
• PALS recommended.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Good organization habits.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in an RN in hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
• Strong ER experience preferred.
• 1-year orthopedic nursing experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• The PSU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the post-surgical patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
• The RN cares for all ages from 2 years to geriatric.
• Will work directly with surgeons and post-acute caregivers to provide a seamless continuity of care from pre- to post-op.
