UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC seeks experienced registered nurses for the new Intermediate Neurosciences and ENT Unit. This 36-hour/week night shift role includes weekend rotation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Unit opened July 2026 and focuses on stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy, neurotrauma, and head/neck oncology care. Strong teamwork and professional development are emphasized within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years and obtain a Bachelor's degree (BSN) with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years.

Responsabilités

• Education - plan and deliver education to patients and families, assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care - identify expected outcomes and adjust plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation - care for patients with complex problems and coordinate with care resources for discharge planning.
• Leadership - set goals for professional growth and collaborate across departments.
• Patient Assessment - synthesize data to determine care priorities and discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborate with patient/family on the plan of care and address cultural considerations.
• Research - stay informed on current studies and discuss applicability with the team.

Formation

Graduation from a school of professional nursing

North Carolina RN licensure with current license

BSN/MSN within specified timeframe after employment
