Job summary

UNC Health Care System’s UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, is staffing an experienced nurse for the new Intermediate Neurosciences and ENT Care Unit (INEU). This 36-hour/week Day Shift role includes weekend rotation, flexible self-scheduling, and a comprehensive benefits package; incentives are available for eligible applicants.

The INEU unit opens in Summer 2026 and features 18 beds, with epilepsy monitoring beds and a range of neuro and head-and-neck procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date.

Responsibilities

• Education – Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. With assistance, uses patient education materials relevant to patient population. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers.
