Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health in Connecticut is seeking a Registered Nurse to assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and supervise non‑RNs on the neuro unit under the Nurse Manager.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and contribute to teaching and patient education. The role requires CT RN licensure, BSN preferred, and BLS certification, with proficiency in electronic health records and a willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; CT RN license required.
• Connecticut Registered Nurse license required.
• BSN preferred.
• Proficient with electronic health records and internet literature searches regarding care.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s physical and psychosocial condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care.
• Develop, document, and communicate a plan of care reflecting patient problems and interventions with patient/family involvement.
• Coordinate and implement the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate the plan’s effectiveness, patient response, and readiness for discharge; revise as needed.
• Provide patient and family education and document outcomes.
• Functions as a preceptor to new staff and may serve as charge nurse.
• Ensure smooth operation of the department/unit and meet performance expectations.
• Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care and related procedures.
