Job summary

UNC Health Johnston is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care on the 3rd Floor – Medical/Surgical unit in Smithfield, NC. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinates patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

The unit is a 33-bed Medical/Surgical area serving predominantly medical patients, with occasional pediatric overnight observation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes and updates plans.
• Implementation - Delivers care for patients with complex problems and uses nursing standards.
• Leadership - Supports unit goals and collaborates with the team.
• Patient Assessment - Assesses patient needs and discharge planning.
• Planning - Prepares and updates the plan of care with multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - Engages with journals and knowledge to improve practice.
