Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical/Surgical - General Surgery unit (Bariatric/Ortho/Neuro/Surgical). This 42-bed unit performs bariatric weight loss procedures and requires a full-time RN for 3 night shifts with every third weekend, plus a 12-week orientation.

Provides care in a supportive, team-based setting with Magnet-style practices. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, accurate documentation, and collaboration within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act

Qualifications

• Graduate from school of nursing with active Ohio RN license.
• Two years of casual RN experience may apply; new grads welcome to Nurse Residency.
• Demonstrated ability to provide care across general, ortho, neuro, and bariatric services.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care with emphasis on patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Assess and plan care for an assigned patient group in collaboration with family.
• Communicate timely information to the care team and keep patient families informed.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately per standards.
• Be accountable for care provided and supervision of other caregivers as appropriate.
