Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License in good standing with TN Board
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Collects current symptoms and detailed patient history; coordinates with health care team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
• Performs triage, considering physical and psychosocial elements
• Manages basic and advanced life support; stabilizes patients until physician available
• Initiates corrective action based on monitoring equipment and symptoms
• Works with physicians during exams, diagnostics, and treatments
• Administers medications via oral, subcutaneous, IV, etc.; records prescribed meds
• Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per policy
• Provides IV therapy
• Cleans and bandages wounds
• Maintains supplies and medical equipment
• Reports suspected abuse to appropriate agencies
• Shows professionalism while handling multiple urgent tasks
• Initiates patient education plans; explains post-treatment home care, diet, exercise, and rehab; refers for follow-up
• Records care information concisely and accurately in required format
• Follows facility/OSHA safety rules; respects cultural and religious practices; upholds HIPAA
• Performs other duties as assigned by management
