Bayhealth is seeking a Patient Care RN for Med Surg 2B on the Night shift at the Kent Campus Hospital in Dover, DE. The role offers full-time hours and a comprehensive benefits package.

The RN will provide direct patient care, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians to ensure quality outcomes. Associates degree or nursing diploma required with RN license and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required by management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or nursing diploma is required.
• Current RN license with applicable BLS and ACLS/PALS per manager's direction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individual needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.
• Counsel and educate patients and care partners on treatment plans.
• Administer medications following the five rights of administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information to guide treatment decisions.
• Consult with physicians to determine best treatment decisions.
• Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Observe and record patient responses to interventions.
• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
• Delegate tasks to unlicensed assistive staff and LPNs as appropriate.
• Uphold core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Contribute to quality and performance improvement plans.
• Participate in ethical decision making as needed.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient care.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing

RN License

BLS

ACLS/PALS as required

Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred)
