Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care RN for Med-Surg 3 West in Dover, DE. The role involves providing direct professional nursing care, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with physicians to determine best treatment decisions.

The shift is 7a–7p at the Kent Campus, with a full-time schedule and a competitive benefits package. The position requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma and RN licensure with BLS.

Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree; Nursing; Or Nursing Diploma.
Credential(s): Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, professional nursing care to patients in the acute care setting.
Develop a patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical records.
Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
Administer medications following the five rights of medication administration.
Provide wound care and dressing changes as applicable.
Read and interpret patient information and make treatment decisions when appropriate.
Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and LPN staff.
