Job summary

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is seeking an experienced RN House Supervisor for our night shift. This role leads nursing operations, ensures safe patient care, and supports staff development in a busy inpatient setting.

The supervisor will act as on-site administrator during nights, guide clinical decisions, and manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow as needed. Missouri license and BLS/CPR are required; BSN preferred for enhanced leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Missouri RN license in good standing is required.
• BSN degree preferred for advanced responsibilities.
• Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Able to work 7:00pm-7:30am for three shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for all nursing staff during the assigned shift.
• Ensure safe, therapeutic, and compliant patient care aligned with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Serve as the on-site administrative representative during non typical hours.
• Support staff with clinical decision-making, patient assessments, and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and patient flow as needed.
