Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, TX is seeking an RN for the night shift in a Full Time position. The nurse will coordinate patient care using the nursing process, evaluate patient responses, and delegate tasks according to the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Ideal candidates have two years of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care setting, and hold a current Texas RN license with a valid BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• Two years nursing experience; acute care experience preferred.
• Current RN license (Texas) or valid Compact RN license is required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as patient advocate ensuring patient rights, confidentiality, and culturally respectful care.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal laws, hospital policies and accreditation standards.
• Completes patient assessments, identification of interventions, discharge planning, and timely documentation.
• Provides nursing care per plan, uses critical thinking for emergencies, and communicates with the care team.
• Mentors staff, serves as preceptor, and may rotate as Charge Nurse.
