Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking a RN Staff Per Diem for the New Family Center night shift (7p-7a). The RN coordinates care for Labor, Antepartum and Postpartum (couplet) patients and supervises LPNs, CNAs, and Unit Assistants as needed.

Requires LA RN licensure, BLS; 1 year labor experience; ACLS/NRP preferred within 3 months; ILCORE/other courses accepted with manikin check-off; ability to lift 50 lbs; strong assessment and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid LA RN license; BLS required on hire.
• 1 year labor and delivery experience required.
• ACLS and NRP preferred on hire, required within 3 months of hire.
• ILCOR courses accepted (e.g., AHA/Red Cross) with manikin check-off.
• AWHONN fetal monitoring training within 3 months of hire and renewed every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for Labor, Antepartum and Postpartum (couplet) patients.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants and CNAs as needed.
• Apply nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
