Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery for the Silvis, IL area. This full-time role features a 12-hour night shift (5:00 pm–5:30 am) and a 0.9 FTE schedule totaling 36 hours per week, with weekend premium opportunities.

You will supervise care across labor, delivery, postpartum, newborn, and pediatric patients, coordinating with physicians and the care team, while maintaining high safety and quality standards and ensuring resources for families post-discharge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license, or Illinois license if working in IL.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Good English language and math skills; strong critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment within 30 minutes of admission; complete assessment data within 24 hours.
• Develop and follow through with outcome-based care plans for mother and infant.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, techs, and other team members; communicate with physicians and families.
• Ensure discharge planning includes newborn care and breastfeeding resources.
• Maintain documentation and ensure patient safety and quality of care.
