Job summary

Northwest Health – La Porte Hospital in Indiana is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for night shifts in Labor & Delivery. This role focuses on coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a busy maternity unit.

You will collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team, educate patients and families, and ensure safety, adherence to protocols, and effective pain management throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience required.
• Active RN licensure in applicable state.
• Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care following nursing process.
• Assess patients and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge needs.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/Code team activities.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
• Document care promptly in medical records.
