Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery/Antepartum unit. The RN delivers compassionate, evidence‑based care, coordinating direct patient care, education, and discharge planning with dignity and empathy.

The role centers on caring for patients through labor, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The RN will perform rounds, assessments, treatments, admissions and transfers, while mentoring staff and ensuring safety and quality throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky or work permit.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program; or an associate degree with 10+ years of experience and enrollment in a BSN within 12 months.
• BLS required (obtain within 30 days).
• ACLS, PALS, NRP required as per department.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and nursing interventions per policy.
• Coordinate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team for care.
• Document patient responses and update care plans accordingly.
• Support safety culture, quality improvement, and compassionate service.
• Mentor and support colleagues and new team members.
