Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery/Antepartum on a full-time night shift. The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care, coordinate direct patient care, and educate patients and families across the labor, delivery, and postpartum continuum.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, rounds, admissions/discharges, and care coordination with a multidisciplinary team in a high-risk unit.

Qualifications

Active Kentucky RN license or work permit.
BSN preferred or ADN with 10+ years' experience; must enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 5 years.
Basic Life Support (must obtain within 30 days of hire).
ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class per department requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Administer medications and implement nursing interventions in accordance with best practices and hospital policy.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
Monitor and document patient responses, revising care plans as needed.
Mentor and support colleagues and new team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
