Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Inpatient Pre‑Op & PACU team at Baystate Medical Center. You will care for adult and pediatric surgical patients, educate families, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams to ensure safe, high‑quality care.

This full‑time night shift, 36 hours per week, requires MA RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of RN experience (ED/ICU or perioperative preferred).

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; perioperative, ED, or ICU preferred.
• High degree of clinical judgment and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and pediatric surgical patients.
• Prepare patients and families for procedures through education and assessment.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitor changes in condition.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high‑quality care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
• Support patient safety, quality initiatives, and excellent patient experience outcomes.
