Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Nights Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Inpatient Pre-Op & PACU team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. You will provide specialized preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery care for both adult and pediatric patients in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires MA RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of RN experience. Shifts are 12 hours, nights, with weekend and on-call commitments, within a fast-paced, collaborative

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required; ED, ICU, Intercare/IMC, strongly preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and pediatric surgical patients.
• Prepare patients and families for surgical procedures through education and clinical assessment.
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care and monitor patients for changes in condition.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Manage care for patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to respond to changing patient needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Support patient safety, quality initiatives, and excellent patient experience outcomes.
