Adventist HealthCare's Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Department. The RN will educate patients and families, mentor junior staff, and uphold ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values while delivering high-quality care.

The role requires anesthesia-free care planning, accurate condition assessment, and collaboration with the care team. Nights, 36 hours weekly, with shift differential eligibility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX is required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties appropriately.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues, and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in evidence-based practice changes.
