Maine Veterans' Homes in Augusta is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a full-time Night Shift Float Nurse. This role covers three 12-hour night shifts weekly (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) across the home, offering variety, teamwork, and the chance to support multiple units while delivering exceptional resident care.

As a Float Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care, assess residents, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current Maine RN license in good standing.
• Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing unit assignments.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care.
• Long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to our veteran residents.
• Float between units based on staffing and resident care needs.
• Assess residents and communicate changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document care accurately and timely.
• Support a safe, respectful, and resident-centered environment.
