Job summary

St Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL is seeking a Staff RN Float for a full-time night shift in the Float Pool to deliver safe patient care across multiple units using the nursing process. Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• One year acute care experience required.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to practice independently within 24 hours of arrival on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care across multiple units within credentialed competency levels.
• Orient quickly, seek information deliberately, and maintain consistent level of care regardless of unit.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.
