Job summary

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma from an Accredited Diploma Program or Associate or higher Degree in Nursing.
• Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or reciprocity within 90 days.
• RN I: 6 months -1.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
• RN IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Current JPS recognized BLS and must be maintained.
• ACLS within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS or ENPC within 90 days of hire and maintained for Urgent Care/Emergency.
• Unit-specific competency validation and orientation required.
• CPR/EKG related trainings within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assesses, directs, implements and provides quality patient care for assigned patients to include modifying nursing care, medication administration and discharge planning.
• Monitors changes in patient condition including vital signs and reports symptoms.
• Performs complete data collection from patient presenting complaints and pertinent history.
• Collaborates with patients to identify treatment goals and writes discharge plans.
• Delivers nursing care including education to address identified knowledge deficits and discharge planning.
• Documents in medical records and systems with accurate orders and charges.
• Maintains infection control and safe patient handling practices.
• Communicates hand-offs to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinates patient transfers in accordance with EMTALA where applicable.
