Job summary

Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift to support the Women’s Services unit. This 8-bed unit emphasizes teamwork, communication and patient-centered care, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and coordinate transfers and discharges.

Responsibilities include medication administration, documentation, patient condition monitoring, daily living assistance, and patient/family education.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
