Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• Knowledge of Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act
• Care across the lifespan with attention to aging and culture

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and reports deviations from patient or established norms.
• Identifies deviations not related to chief patient’s complaints.
• Reports patient’s responses to treatment and documents nursing interventions.
• Provides basic comfort and support according to patient needs.
• Fosters patient and family participation in achieving optimal functioning.
• Sets priorities in patient assignments and seeks guidance when needed.
• Identifies emergency situations and initiates appropriate interventions.
• Defines nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes; modifies plans as needed.
• Documents assessments and interventions; follows established documentation guidelines.
• Maintains quality assurance, infection control, and safety per hospital policies.

Education

Associate’s degree in nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
