Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current BLS certification upon accepting PCN role.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assists care givers with standards of care and coordinates with educators or supervisors when needed.
• Ensures caregiver assignments are safe and knows escalation process.
• Facilitates unit performance improvement processes as directed by leadership.
• Supervises and coordinates delegation and implementation of patient care for their shift area.
• Primary contact for medical staff on shift; rounds with staff when the lead nurse is unavailable.
• Manages patient assignments and unit workflow.
• Assists patient flow with admissions and timely discharges.
• Projects staffing needs for upcoming hours and escalates issues as needed.
• Monitors breaks and assigns buddy systems for lunches.
• Conducts safety huddles and ensures bedside shift reports are consistent.
• Reminds caregivers of hourly rounding and ensures high risk patients have fall precautions.
