Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Admit-Transfer Center in Charleston is seeking an experienced registered nurse for a high-volume role overseeing patient transfers, admissions, and bed requests across MUSC’s hospital network.

The RN will coordinate with Patient Placement, use EPIC for communications, and support night shifts in a 36-hour weekly schedule, with 12-hour nights and rotating holidays. The position requires ADN (BSN preferred), SC licensure, BLS, and 5+ years of RN experience.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Licensed RN in SC or compact state; BLS required; ACLS may be required.
• Minimum 5 years RN experience; leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC and call-center patient throughput preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transfers to MUSC hospitals and from non-MUSC facilities.
• Serve as a clinical resource and facilitator for admissions, bed requests, and pre-admits.
• Utilize EPIC and other systems to manage patient flow and throughput.
• Lead or support charge nurse and supervisor roles as needed.
