Qualifications

• Must have active Maine RN license.
• BLS certification within 6 months and maintained thereafter.
• Complete Basic Cardiac Course within 1 year of hire; ACLS within 6 months and maintained thereafter.
• Demonstrates competence in nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation; exhibits leadership skills and teamwork.
• Promotes patient advocacy and collaborates with other disciplines to ensure effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Completes admission assessment and recognizes health problems.
• Completes admission assessment within 8 hours of admission.
• Performs nursing assessment on assigned patients promptly to ensure safety and continuity of care.
• Verifies medications and reviews allergies at admission.
• Assists with telemetry and camera systems and monitors patient data.
• Updates care plans, Braden, and fall risk within 1 hour of shift start.
• Administers medications following the five rights and hospital policy.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings (IDTs).
• Maintains patient privacy and informed consent; collaborates with care team.
