Job summary

Scotland Health Care System in Laurinburg, North Carolina is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the 2E Med Surg/Endoscopy area. This full-time, third-shift position requires NC or Multistate RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure (NC or multistate) and BLS.
• Current ACLS certification and annual requirements met.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with best practices in endoscopy and gastroenterology nursing.
• Ensure proper technique and standards are followed.
• Supervise room staff and provide assistance as needed.
• Ensure patient care via correct identification, chart checks, and condition notes.
• Verify consent forms are accurate and signed prior to procedures.
• Maintain proper body alignment throughout procedures.
• Ensure all supplies and equipment are ready and functional.
• Care for specimens and cultures per policy.
• Complete documentation and charges accurately.
• Accompany patient to care unit and report to nurse on procedures.
• Interviews patients pre-procedure to assess condition and needs.
• Prepare supplies and organize materials for patient needs.
• Demonstrate age-specific competency across life span.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns.
