Job summary

Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Surgery Room. You will stay current with endoscopy and gastroenterology nursing practices, supervise room staff, and ensure patient safety from pre-procedure through recovery.

Ideal candidates hold an NC or Multistate RN license with BLS, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current NC or Multistate RN licensure; current BLS
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Annual licensure and certification requirements maintained
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Stay current with best practices in endoscopy and gastroenterology nursing
• Ensure proper technique according to accepted standards
• Supervise room personnel and direct or assist as needed
• Identify patient, review chart, and report changes in condition
• Verify consent form accuracy and signatures prior to procedures
• Maintain proper body alignment during procedures
• Prepare supplies and verify equipment is functional before use
• Caring for specimens and cultures per policy
• Complete documentation and charges
• Escort patient to care unit and report to nurse
• Interview patient pre-procedure to assess needs
• Organize supplies for special patient needs
• Age-specific care knowledge across patient lifespan
• Perform duties as assigned by surgical leadership
• Respond promptly to patient needs and concerns
