Job summary

Scotland Health Care System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Laurinburg, NC. The 3rd shift requires thorough ED triage, rapid assessment, and collaborative patient care under physician orders.

The role emphasizes adherence to hospital policies, documentation accuracy, and maintaining a calm, patient-centered environment while ensuring safety and quality care. A one-year hospital RN background, preferably ER/CC, is favored.

Qualifications

• Current NC or Multistate RN licensure.
• 1 year RN experience in hospital setting, preferably ER or critical care.
• TNCC and ENPC, ACLS and PALS preferred; must obtain within 3 months.
• Nationally recognized certification in Emergency Medicine.
• CPR certification preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage and initiate accurate and ongoing assessments of patients in the ED.
• Document thorough nursing histories and care plans per policy.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects per policy.
• Coordinate care with physicians and health care team for safe patient flow.
• Promote patient dignity, privacy, and a therapeutic environment.
• Document care and outcomes in the medical record; adapt plan as needed.
