Job summary

Northwest Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and pharmacologic respiratory care under physician orders and clinical protocols. This role supports patient recovery through assessments, therapy monitoring, and individualized treatment plans.

The RT will document care accurately, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services in compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• CRT certification required
• 1–2 years healthcare experience preferred
• BCLS/ACLS/PALS required
• NICU certification may be required for NICU assignments

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory treatments (oxygen, aerosols, chest physiotherapy) per orders and protocols.
• Orients patient to treatment modality to improve cooperation.
• Assesses patients and monitors responses to therapy and medications.
• Implements physician orders accurately per respiratory care procedures.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance for safety and comfort.
• Communicates effectively with peers, clinicians, and leadership.
• Documents all treatments and responses clearly and thoroughly.
• Follows infection control and patient identification protocols.
• Administers medications with safety and proper documentation.
• Responds to emergencies and collaborates with teams to stabilize patients.
• Applies age-appropriate oxygen therapy across populations.
• Ensures PPE use and safety compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
