Southeast Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide prescribed respiratory care across age groups from Neonate to Geriatric. The role includes assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, management, and monitoring per physician orders in a hospital setting.

Required qualifications include graduation from an ACPE-approved Respiratory Therapy program, NBRC-RT, Alabama license, and current BCLS/ACLS/PALS within six months.

Competenze

• Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current Alabama license to practice Respiratory Therapy.
• BCLS within six (6) months of employment date.
• ACLS within six (6) months of employment date.
• PALS within six (6) months of employment date.

• Demonstrates knowledge and skill to perform routine, non-critical, critical, emergent and advanced modalities of respiratory care with established competencies.
• Adjusts clinical functions to meet age-specific populations with appropriate communication.
• Administers broncho-pulmonary medications including actions, delivery modes, hazards, contraindications and adverse effects.
• Uses critical thinking to prioritize patient care and manage time effectively.
• Documents patient care following hospital/department guidelines.
• Recommends and implements changes in patient therapy when appropriate.
• Contributes to quality outcomes and performance improvement in the department and hospital.
• Maintains pride in the workplace by contributing beyond stated job assignments when needed.
• Identifies and adheres to hospital/department policies and regulatory standards.
• Uses resources efficiently (personnel, financial, equipment, supplies).
• Shift details: Night shift 7:00 pm – 7:00 am; FTE 0.2; Type Per Diem.
