Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent training.
• 3+ years hospital experience as an RRT is required.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC RRT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Recommend changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instruct and coach patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and reevaluate patient/ventilator interface every four hours.
• Monitor arterial blood gases and blood gas results to guide therapy.
• Provide training to staff and supervise student preceptorship programs.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with related procedures as needed.
