Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for full-time night shift (7:00 pm to 8:00 am) at the NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York, NY. The role includes supervision of respiratory staff, invasive and non-invasive therapies, and patient transport.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy, NY license, and BCLS. Preferred: 1–2 years hospital experience, pediatric experience, and NBRC RRT/CRT credentials.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy required.
• Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS) required.
• Preferred: 1-2 years hospital-based experience and pediatric experience.
• Preferred: RRT and CRT certification from NBRC.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a licensed physician, perform various respiratory therapies and procedures (invasive and non-invasive).
• Clinically supervise and monitor Respiratory Technicians as allowed by licensure.
• Assist in transport of incubated patients, maintain airways and provide ventilation/oxygenation.
• Assess modalities of respiratory care and recommend improvements to delivery of care.
