Job summary

MHA (Mental Health Association) in Massachusetts is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to create a safe living environment for individuals with acquired brain injuries. You will promote independence, personal growth, and community engagement while upholding our core values of Respect, Integrity, and Compassion.

The role requires night shift Sundays through Wednesdays 11pm-9am, 40 hours per week, with driving for community access.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving participant needs.
• Ability to provide personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
• Willingness to obtain MAP, CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Minimum age 21; HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of relevant experience preferred (brain injuries or mental health).

Responsibilities

• Communicate respectfully to promote self-esteem, empowerment, and independence.
• Assist with personal care, daily routines, meal prep, and transport/finances.
• Facilitate access to community resources and teach self-advocacy; implement service plans.
• Complete documentation, track progress, and report incidents or concerns promptly.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility, participate in team meetings and trainings.
• Demonstrate professionalism, collaborate with the team, support program goals.
