Qualifications

• Certificate is required.
• Associate of Science is preferred.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required by FL DOH.
• Within 6 months of hire, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with breathing disorders.
• Administering respiratory therapies.
• Performing and interpreting diagnostic tests.
• Monitoring and managing mechanical ventilators for patients who require respiratory support.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Providing patient education and support on proper breathing techniques, medication usage, and lifestyle changes.
• Maintaining accurate and complete patient assessments, treatments, and progress documentation.
